My most formal training has been with Diane Bruni of Downward Dog, and my classmates therein, a group of the most charming folks about this town! During the Teacher Training program I have: become more familiar with some introductory philosophical concepts and linguistics, and their relevance to contemporary issues; been introduced to valuable anatomical information in relation to allopathic medicine, as well as traditional lines of energy and the elements within the body; been immersed into on-going concentrated work-shops of the primary series of the Asthanga.
I have also recently had the privilege studying introductory concepts of Ayurveda and Asana with Matthew Remski and Dennison Smith at Renaissance Yoga and Ayurveda – so far, it is offering me an exciting new perspective on the synthesis of the healing arts into one integral system. I enjoy writing about the potential impact of Ayurvedic values in possible public application, reviewing contemporary ideas about sustainability that through Ayurveda’s lens hearken to disappearing aboriginal modes, and the personal experiments with new types of nourishment.
My foremost asana experiences are with Dennison Smith in her deep structure classes - wow - namaskara!
Overall, I intend to continue to share these amazing lessons, as Health and Peace are the roots of my objectives, and always define my life’s path, laden with projects devoted to helping educate and heal… “yoga for the people” c.c.
